Arizona High Court Reviews Ruling Over Wastewater Snowmaking Near Flagstaff
Arizona’s Supreme Court has agreed to review a lower court appeals ruling over artificial snowmaking at Arizona Snowbowl ski resort outside Flagstaff.
In February, the state Court of Appeals stopped the use of treated wastewater for snowmaking on the San Francisco Peaks, backing the Hopi Tribe’s claim that the use of it was causing “special injury” to sacred land.
Flagstaff sells the wastewater to Snowbowl and joined the ski-resort’s petition asking the state Supreme Court review the appellate decision.
